The Carolina Hurricanes Storm Squad

The Carolina Storm Squad.

Here are the girls via video:

Vittalia did not accept or something because there is no mention of her anywhere beyond this video.

A couple of interesting facts. First off, yes. Mike is a full member. He has been a member since at least 2005 when I went to the RBC Center and saw the Thrashers play the Hurricanes.

That is awesome. I know I talked a lot about pretty girls, but Big Mike has sorta the same appeal. In that you want to watch him perform because he's entertaining. A different kind of entertainment, but fun nonetheless. Interesting fact: he can do a back flip off a diving board. Impressive.

Some other interesting tidbits from the ladies:

To start, I love Allison because her favorite theme park is the Magic Kingdom and her favorite ride is Space Mountain.

She is also a fan of country fried steak and mac & cheese. And she has always wanted to be and astronaut or meterologist. She claims she got a local weatherman's ( Greg Fishel’s )autograph in her Disney character autograph book when she was younger. That's nerdy. That's awesome.

Liz kinda scares me.

She claims to do a good Stitch impression and likes the art of Kat Von D. And that is a somewhat odd person. But hey. To each their own.

Courtney must be the patriot of the team.

She can recite the Preamble to the US Constitution from memory and idolized Olympic gymnast Dominique Moceanu growing up. That works for me. Especially now because little Dominique is all grown up herself.

She's married with a kid. But she still works out, I'm guessing, with a wicked arm that could hurt you. She scares me more than Liz.

You can check out all of the information on the members of the Storm Squad by clicking on their photos at the their website. Now, let's see them out and about on the ice. Some of these were obviously taken during a photo shoot because there's no one in the background. They must have been told to act like they were "caught in the moment" as they are clearly not looking at the camera but are looking like they are trying to pump up the invisable crowd. And it's more than one of the girls, so it's not a fluke.

Now, the girls from the past.

And Mike.

Now for the girls of this year in a nice looking outfit and their storm gear. And in fancy eyewear.

...and, of course, Mike.

No. The girls do not have the worse eyesight of any ice crew in the NHL.

Thank you Eye Care Associates for sponsoring the Carolina Storm Squad. We all appreciate it very very much. And if you didn't like what you saw, you are probably the one with the bad eyesight. If you live in the greater Raleigh area, you might want to schedule and appointment with one of their doctors. Such as

DR. LISA FULLER, O.D.,

DR. APRIL IHNE, O.D.,

DR. GAIL LONG, O.D.,

DR. SHANAR LOU, O.D., or

DR. JENNIFER LYERLY, O.D.

Thank you ladies. And thank you Allison, if nothing else for your answer to the following question:

You can tell she has no idea why the Carolina mascot is a pig (technically an Ice Hog), but is trying to force an intelligent sounding answer. And that bit of b.s. was pretty good. I'm not sure I'd have been able to think of that on the spot. But my favorite moment is after her statement and the look in her eyes to the person off-camera. That "I know and you know that's not right. But did it at least sound good?" look. Well played Allison.

Next time I'm in Raleigh, I'll owe you Fiocchi from Café Luna.

Nice shoes. I'd recommend fasten them on your feet extra tight next game. You never know who's in the stands in Carolina.

Why would Rex Ryan be wearing a Flyers jersey anyway? Regardless: Allison, other Storm Squad ladies, maybe Mike; be cautious and keep your piggies safe.
